What is Trinity Lutheran Bible Camp?

For over 40 years Trinity Lutheran Bible Camp, or TLBC, has been sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church in Downtown Olympia. Each year TLBC welcomes campers who have completed 3rd through 7th grades to the Environmental Learning Center of Millersylvania State Park.

TLBC offers many different activities during the week of camp, like swimming in the lake, boating, arts and crafts, all camp games, and more. Each cabin has up to 6 campers along with 2 high school or college-aged counselors. Our staff consists of volunteers with training and education in many fields, including education, medical, culinary and theological studies.

While all the different activities offered to make camp fun for everyone, Trinity Lutheran Bible Camp’s biggest accomplishment is also our mission: to introduce kids to Jesus. Every day campers and counselors participate in Morning Worship with the message being brought to us by various Pastors. They also engage in Bible studies in their cabin groups, partnered with another cabin. Each night we gather around the campfire to sing songs of praise and listen to a devotion that brings together all the different things taught that day. And before bed, each cabin has a cabin talk so the kids can discuss what they thought about everything they heard, saw, and did.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 28:18-20 “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

At Trinity Lutheran Bible Camp, we strive to fulfill that mission. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we aim to make disciples by teaching each camper about Jesus’ love for them through His life, death, and resurrection. We encourage each camper by showing them their worth as a precious child of God. And we equip them to follow Jesus, putting Him before all else, and resting in the promise given to us by Christ that He is with us.

We pray that you will consider being a part of this amazing ministry. We ask that you keep the campers, counselors, and staff in your prayers this July as Trinity Lutheran Bible Camp obeys Jesus’ command to make disciples.
