POP's high school graduates were recognized on Sun., June 8. At the early service these two seniors received their accolades. Hanging tassels indicate that James Pirie of Lacey will graduate from Timberline High School this Thursday, June 12. Gretchen Burkhart of Dupont graduated Sat., June 7, as the Valedictorian from Steilacoom High School.

One of POP's retired pastors, the Rev. Bob Meyer and his spouse Judy, led the final Adult Forum last Sunday (June 8) about their missionary experience in New Guinea. He will lead worship at POP on Sun., June 22, while Pastor john is attending a Grunewald Guild workshop near Leavenworth.

Recent sightings at POP included Prem Robert providing a welcome to his equally gracious sister, Nirmila, and her husband, Samuel Guria, from India; then there was Katie Jacobson showing the photo album to Sophie Dunman from her recent mission trek to Croatia (this took place at Addie Stern's home and the concluding Thursday Morning Study); finally, Evan Schrock, a student now serving with A Christian Ministry in the Nat'l Parks at Mt. Rainier, was the center of attention of LYF members at the Annual LYF Youth Banquet.

Recent sightings of friends at POP. We love kids. We love to play. We respond to God's grace with the hand we are dealt ... and even dogmatic about our outreach!

The Fellowship Hall was put to good use for socializing before and after the services.

The Corey quads (plus Mom) were also with us again this year.

Almost 100 youth and adults participated in the Middle School Youth Gathering arranged by the Puget Sound Youth Board at Camp Arnold in Eatonville March 8-9. "Whose Spud Are You?" was the theme that focused on Christian identity based on Eph.

Here's the latest from the "Corey Quads." Can you pick out Jordayne, Nicholas, Jimmy, and Tank?

Turns out. . . Dr. Dale Meyer (left) , president of Concordia Seminary/St. Louis and former Lutheran Hour speaker, was a grade school classmate of POP's Steve Thomas. These two, buddies some 50 years ago at St. Paul's Lutheran School in Park Forest, IL, were reunited last Sunday, Jan. 27, when Dr. Meyer spoke at Zion/Tacoma.

Will and Ulla Smith's 60th Anniversary celebration.

POP's Lutheran Youth Fellowship (LYF) were bound for a day a inner-tubing near Paradise on Mount Rainier on Jan. 19 (James Pirie's birthday). Icy roads, however, prevented the final ascent. From these pictures taken during the resulting extended time at Longmire, it looks like a great time was had by all.
